Busta Shinjuku / Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal

The expressway terminal above JR departs from 4F. A Kawaguchiko example separates the booking site, the actual bay and time for bags, making the steps before departure easier to plan.

Opened in April 2016, it splits roles by floor: 4F boarding (12 bays), 3F arrivals, taxis and the Tokyo Tourist Information Center, 2F station link. Its busiest route ever is to Lake Kawaguchiko.

Arrive on 3F, depart on 4F

Opened in 2016 to consolidate 19 scattered bus stops, the terminal separates functions vertically. The station and pedestrian link is on 2F, bus arrivals and taxis on 3F, and departures on 4F. The escalator in front of JR New South Gate leads to the waiting room; the South Exit approach crosses Koshu Kaido. The operator’s roughly two- and four-minute estimates cover those connections, with extra time needed for your bay and bags. Departure areas are A1–A3, B4–B6, C7–C9 and D10–D12. Match your booked service and departure time to the display before going to its bay.

Walking bands are computed by FOW on the OpenStreetMap surface street network at 80 m/min and drawn as a smoothed approximate area around the streets reached. They ignore exit positions, station interiors, underground passages, signals, slopes and routes inside buildings — not directions; follow on-site signs.

A worked Kawaguchiko booking example

The listed ordinary one-way fare to Kawaguchiko Station is ¥2,200, or ¥2,000 with Highwaybus.com credit-card payment. For two adults travelling out and back, that is ¥8,800, or ¥8,000 under that discount, excluding local transport and meals. The scheduled journey of about one hour 45 minutes is not a traffic-proof arrival promise. Kawaguchiko Station, Fuji-Q Highland and Fuji’s Fifth Station are different stops. Some Fujikyu-operated services are sold through Fujiyama Connect. Select the service from the timetable and follow its seller link, then retain the seller and service details from the confirmation. Fujiyama Connect can also sell some Keio seats, so the company name alone does not determine the website.

Return to the seller for changes

Make changes and cancellations through the site that sold the ticket. A Highwaybus.com booking cannot simply transfer to a Fujiyama Connect service: cancelling and buying again may incur a cancellation charge. Terminal counters and machines support several systems, rather than every company and ticket. Even for a purchase on arrival, first establish the seller and available seats. Where your service supports a mobile ticket, prepare its display as instructed instead of joining a collection queue. Large-bag dimensions, quantities, storage and boarding assistance vary by operating company; there is no terminal-wide baggage allowance to assume.

What to use while waiting

The waiting room is open 03:30–01:00 the next day, and the information counter 07:00–23:00. A convenience store, Seven Bank ATM, multipurpose toilets and nursing room put practical errands on the departure floor. Lockers allow up to 72 hours; keep the receipt because its QR code unlocks the door. Outside JR New South Gate’s 05:45–24:00 service window, check the South Exit approach. The terminal’s address is 5-24-55 Sendagaya, Shibuya ward.
