In District, Rockwell Group combines deep blue plaster, aged brass, leather banquettes and wood-inlay tables. Bedrooms carry the detail through to charred-wood headboards with floral metal inlay inspired by ikebana. This is a hotel for enjoying furniture and materials close up. Allow for its distance from the station: the hotel gives about 0.8 km or 12 minutes from JR Shinjuku’s South Exit, and about eight minutes from Tochomae A4.

Choose by the bathroom and space for luggage

Essential King provides 28 m² for one or two adults, a king bed, a deep tub and a rain shower. Essential Walk-in Shower is a different category without a tub. Premium King increases the area to 33 m²; the 36 m² Premium Additional Living Area adds a living area and larger closet. The extra living area and closet matter if two people will unpack and spend time in the room. Premium and Suite categories include a complimentary minibar, while the 70 m² Shinjuku Suite adds living space and a large bathroom facing the city. Book a pet-designated room. The hotel's FAQ and Japanese IHG page specify Essential Corner King or above, and Premium King or Suite for pets weighing 11 kg or more. Tell the hotel about the pet when booking and confirm the exact room category.

Brunch at District without an overnight stay

You can visit District on 2F for brunch without booking a room. Choose one cold and one hot dish. An acai bowl with honey, coconut and peanut butter could be followed by brioche Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon or bacon. Pancakes with mascarpone, fruit and roasted nuts offer another hot choice. With the bread set, whipped butter, jam, honey and welcome smoothie, the tax-inclusive ¥6,500 menu comes to ¥7,475 per person after 15% service, before extra toppings or alcohol. Brunch runs daily from 11:30 to 17:00, with last orders at 15:00; reserve a seat.

Breakfast, guest benefits and a quieter room

District serves breakfast from 06:30 to 11:00, with last orders at 10:30. Breakfast-inclusive room offers describe a choice of starter and main; breakfast is not included in every rate. Morning Kickstart, from 07:00 to 10:00, is one takeaway drink rather than a meal. Guest Social Hour runs from 17:00 to 18:00 with cocktails, wine and canapés. There is a 24-hour gym but no pool. Check whether your sightseeing schedule leaves time to use these benefits.

Light sleepers should request a quieter room position and ask what can be allocated. Same-day luggage storage before check-in and after checkout lets you head out without your bags.
