Walking times are estimates from OpenStreetMap’s surface street network at 80 m/min. They exclude underpasses, decks, station concourses, signal waits, slopes and movement inside buildings. Straight-line links are not walking routes; follow on-site signs even where a time is shown. Shaded quarters show the approximate areas around FOW’s selected places.

Currency Museum

A free museum tracing exchange in Japan through the forms and uses of money.

For questions about money

At Currency Museum, compare an oban gold coin with its weight activity or trace what old coins could buy. Entry is free, 9:30–16:30 with last admission 16:00; check the closure calendar. Bring a device and earphones for English audio. Around hotel arrival or departure, security and large-luggage restrictions make storage the first decision.

Try quizzes and puzzles at Kusuri Museum

Choose Kusuri Museum if operating exhibits and solving problems appeal to you: its activities include a medicine-form quiz and a molecular-design puzzle. Free entry still requires a 90-minute session reservation. English and Chinese support concerns the visitor-medal exhibit functions, so do not choose it on the assumption of a staff explanation in those languages. Pick it when the date is bookable and that form of interaction suits you.

Commit to a guided 1-hour Head Office tour

Reserve the Head Office tour if the vault and former banking floor interest you. The group moves together for about 60 minutes and cannot leave midway. The regular English session is on the third Wednesday monthly, 13:45–14:45, for ages 11 and above; ages 11–12 need an adult. Check the separate elementary-grade-5 minimum for Japanese sessions. Choose it when you can arrange name registration, original ID, security and luggage requirements. These are alternatives: pick one by your question and the conditions you can meet.
