Walking times are estimates from OpenStreetMap’s surface street network at 80 m/min. They exclude underpasses, decks, station concourses, signal waits, slopes and movement inside buildings. Straight-line links are not walking routes; follow on-site signs even where a time is shown. Shaded quarters show the approximate areas around FOW’s selected places.

Ozu Washi

Choose between browsing washi and making a sheet yourself.

Make a sheet of paper

At Ozu, form kozo fibre into one A4 sheet, dry it and take it home. Direct sessions take about 45 minutes, from ¥1,000 for plain paper, with pattern/design options. The information centre’s separate English-guided offer takes about 60 minutes for ¥9,000 per group of 1–4. Choose it for making paper; if a gift is the purpose, shopping does not require a workshop.

Shape sweets and prepare tea at An Tokyo

An Tokyo lists 65 minutes for shaping nerikiri sweets and 95 minutes when matcha preparation is added. Guaranteed English and entry for nonparticipants are not standard conditions. Choose it when the session length, language arrangements and participation suit everyone in your group.

Work with colour at Artrio

Artrio offers a 90-minute art workshop with materials included. Compare its age-6 minimum, paid guardian participation for under-15s, booking 7 days ahead and 100% cancellation charge within 168 hours. Animals may also be present. These alternatives are in different districts. Choose one by the work you want to try and the conditions you can meet.
