Walks through this lens

Walking times are estimates from OpenStreetMap’s surface street network at 80 m/min. They exclude underpasses, decks, station concourses, signal waits, slopes and movement inside buildings. Straight-line links are not walking routes; follow on-site signs even where a time is shown. Shaded quarters show the approximate areas around FOW’s selected places.

Isseido Booksellers

Browse older books and reference material with a subject in mind, as an alternative to a general new-book store.

Two humanities searches

Isseido covers Japanese and foreign-language humanities and classical Japanese books. Kitazawa concentrates on English-centred humanities, including literature, Japan/Asia, linguistics and anthropology. For an exact title or edition, check the catalogue; if you have chosen only a language, add a subject. Kitazawa is the separate 2F shop above Book House.

For Korean reading

CHEKCCORI brings Korean books together with Japanese books about Korea. The cafe is suspended and stairs precede the lift. Choose another stop first if the purpose is a drinks break or stairs do not suit.

Go deeper into architecture

Nanyodo provides a specialist architecture browse. One shop can be enough when the subject is clear. Check Thursday, Sunday and public-holiday closure before deciding whether another bookshop would add anything.
