From Busta’s arrival floor, choose where the bags should go, then a southern breakfast or a western view. Reaching the hotel and starting the city day are separate parts of arrival.

Walks through this lens

Walking times are estimates from OpenStreetMap’s surface street network at 80 m/min. They exclude underpasses, decks, station concourses, signal waits, slopes and movement inside buildings. Straight-line links are not walking routes; follow on-site signs even where a time is shown. Shaded quarters show the approximate areas around FOW’s selected places.

ARRIVAL / BASE / TRANSITION

Shinjuku Station

Reduce Shinjuku Station to your line, your exit gate and the place where you will retrieve your bags. Start with two useful cases: New South for Busta, and the unpaid passage for crossing between east and west.

Continue with this place ↗

Fix the accommodation side, then connect exits and bus stops. Check luggage storage separately at each place.

The floors between bus and JR

Bus arrivals use Busta 3F, with the JR link on 2F. For another expressway departure, go to 4F and match your service and time to the bay display. JR lists New South Gate at 05:45–24:00; the escalator in front connects to the departure floor. Moving between eastern shops and a western hotel without a train can use the B 1 public east–west passage, separate from the paid railway area. Before moving heavy bags, choose a lift approach for your actual operator and gate.

A meal and bags after arrival

Sawamura outside the JR gates on NEWo Man 2F serves breakfast from 07:00. Its September 2026 bacon-and-egg set includes toast, sausage, salad and a standard drink for ¥1,925; a latte adds ¥385, making ¥2,310. Last orders are 09:30, followed by a 10:00–11:00 changeover closure. A later arrival can consider takeaway bread. If a bus is approaching, locate the departure floor and bay before eating. Lockers outside New South Gate near Suica Penguin Square avoid returning through the paid gates when leaving by bus. If going to the hotel first, use that property’s luggage-storage terms.

The first view without the bags

TMG’s free observatory helps orient the west through Park Tower and Opera City southwest and Gyoen southeast. Park Hyatt is a choice for longer seated time with tea in a high interior. Budget in the low tens of thousands of yen per person including service for tea, with a suitable reservation after noon. These are different activities: reading directions from an observatory, or giving time to food and drink. After settling bags at your base, choose one according to energy and the time you will actually use.

Follow on-site signs between station floors and open approaches. Park Hyatt’s tea or bar is a paid dining choice.
