The SG Club

Choose between a casual drink at ground-floor Guzzle and more intricate cocktails in basement Sip.

Japanese ingredients enter familiar drinks, from elderflower and doburoku vinegar in a G&T to shochu and cold brew in a martini, while Guzzle and Sip supply different settings.

Its concept draws on the 1860 Japanese mission to America, bringing Japanese motifs into an American bar setting.

Good to know

Guzzle’s mocktails and takeaway drinks and Sip’s intricate combinations belong to distinct offers.

Two settings for a first visit

Shingo Gokan’s The SG Club imagines a bar opened by Japan’s 1860 mission to America. Street-level Guzzle takes a casual vintage West Coast direction, including mocktails and takeaway drinks. Basement Sip combines New York gangster and samurai motifs with a shoeshine booth. Guzzle suits adding a spontaneous drink to an evening; Sip offers a booked seat and a more deliberate stop. Savor on 2F is a members’ cigar bar.

Walking bands are computed by FOW on the OpenStreetMap surface street network at 80 m/min and drawn as a smoothed approximate area around the streets reached. They ignore exit positions, station interiors, underground passages, signals, slopes and routes inside buildings — not directions; follow on-site signs.

Fermentation in a G&T, coffee in a martini

Named drinks make the approach clearer. Time Out’s 2023 account described the Tohoku Gin and Tonic with elderflower tonic and doburoku vinegar, and the Cold Crew Martini with SG Shochu, cold brew and lemon peel. They offer different starting interests: floral tonic with a fermented ingredient, or coffee with a spirit. These are dated menu examples; use the current list to confirm names, ingredients and individual prices.

Budget and a Sip reservation

The restaurant-managed listing gives Guzzle and Sip hours as 18:00–01:00, closed on the fourth Monday, and a budget of ¥5,000–5,999 per person. Guzzle has no service or seating charge; Sip adds 10% service with no seating charge—a ¥5,000 subtotal becomes ¥5,500. Cards are accepted, electronic money and QR payments are not, and an English menu is listed. Sip reservations start at 18:00 or 19:30, with 90 minutes when busy. Everyone must arrive before seating. Counter bookings allow up to two; parties of six or more and minors are excluded. Arriving over fifteen minutes late without contact can cancel the booking.

Sangai is a separate booking

The official site also links to Sangai on 3F. Its current booking page offers Yuya Nagamine’s à-la-carte service with a 120-minute sitting and advance notice for nonalcoholic requests. Shingo Gokan’s course runs on separately announced dates. It is a distinct reservation from dropping into Guzzle. The building is at 1-7-8 Jinnan; use the relevant booking page and visit-date notice for each floor.
