At Tower Records Shibuya, start with format and genre. Japanese pop, indie and city pop are on 3F; K-pop is on 5F. For vinyl, go directly to 6F TOWER VINYL, which combines new and used records with cassettes and players. Overseas rock, jazz and soul CDs are on 7F, classical on 8F. You do not need to browse the entire building first.

Piano and drum breaks on vinyl
Nujabes’s modal soul is a useful first LP when you want both a musical starting point and a clear edition. The 2005 album layers piano over drum breaks, with Shing02 on Luv(sic.) Part 3 and Terry Callier singing Ordinary Joe. Rap, singing and instrumental pieces meet across jazz and hip-hop, beyond the shop’s Japanese-pop category. Tower’s Hydeout Productions 2LP edition released on 21 September 2024 was listed online at ¥4,950 including tax on 19 October 2026. That is a dated retailer price example, separate from a current Shibuya stock offer.
A beer floor and a classical listening room
The operator lists around 100,000 records on 6F and added a standing beer bar in February 2026. On 8F, TANNOY Autograph speakers supply the classical department's background music and specialist staff are available. Ordinary shopping requires no admission ticket; in-store performances and exhibitions can have purchase or ticket conditions. Allow an estimated 45–60 minutes for focused browsing, or ninety for several floors.
From Tower to PARCO
The address is 1-22-14 Jinnan, generally 11:00–22:00. After choosing an edition and budget here, continue to used records at disk union in PARCO B1, or follow soul and Brazilian music at Face in Udagawacho. If listening is the purpose, leave time on the relevant floor instead of filling the route with shops. Artist appearances and promotional offers have their own dates and qualifying purchases.
