A graphic designer's RC buggy

BLOCKHEAD MOTORS grew from JUN WATANABE's interest in 1980s Tamiya off-road buggies. Its Wild One Off-Roader is a 425 mm-long, 1/10 assembly kit, with a prepainted and cut light-blue polycarbonate body and logo/turtle decals. Rear motor and drive, independent suspension and aluminium oil dampers provide the working structure behind the graphics. A 540 motor is included; the speed controller and radio equipment are separate.

Add the drive equipment to the kit

The manufacturer catalogue checked in October 2026 priced the kit at ¥26,400 including tax. The same dated catalogue listed Tamiya’s separate Finespec 2.4G Electric RC Drive Set, item 45053, at ¥19,800: transmitter, receiver, steering servo, reversing TBLE-04S speed controller, 7.2V running battery and household-mains charger are explicitly included. It supports 540-type motors. Four AA transmitter batteries are the separate power requirement.

The kit and this drive set totalled ¥46,200 at those listed prices, before four transmitter AA batteries and tools. Manufacturer tool examples are the ¥2,640 RC eight-tool set and ¥1,320 Modeler’s Side Cutter alpha. The set covers screwdrivers, hex keys and box wrenches; check the manual against other basic tools you own, such as a knife and pliers. These are combined manufacturer/retailer examples, not a PARCO bundled offer.

A smaller graphic purchase

The October 2026 catalogue illustrated a smaller graphic purchase through the BHM Original Decal Sheet Ver.4 at ¥1,200, a different scale from an assembly project. The Tokyo shop is on PARCO 5F, generally 11:00–21:00. Allow an estimated 20–30 minutes to see how buggy colours and logos move into clothing and stickers. Plan to browse and shop. Ask ahead if a driving or assembly session is the reason for your visit, and check physical stock of the kits, equipment or stickers you want.

Shibuya PARCO 5F, 15-1 Udagawacho. The facility’s ordinary retail window is 11:00–21:00, subject to shop exceptions. If you want to drive a car rather than shop, ask the store whether a session is available before visiting.

Good to know

Wild One is an assembly kit; radio/drive equipment, four transmitter AA batteries and tools are separate. In-store driving and assembly are not advertised as regular services.
