NONLECTURE books/arts

A Spain-zaka basement connecting books, exhibitions and music events.

Compared with SPBS’s editorial office or RHYTHM_AND_BOOKS’ used books, it follows the path from a publication into an exhibition or event.

Visit fitFor connecting art, photography and fashion books with exhibitions. Confirm time and admission conditions first if an event is your reason to go.

Opened in March 2026, its name comes from E. E. Cummings’ i: six nonlectures.

Good to know

When a book and exhibition share an artist, compare what each medium reveals.

Books beside the exhibition

Goldwin opened NONLECTURE as a bookshop and art space in March 2026. Its name comes from E. E. Cummings' i: six nonlectures, suggesting an encounter with books, works and people rather than a fixed teaching role. A visit can begin with the paper and images of a book, then continue to the exhibition. It is in ZERO GATE's basement, a separate building from PARCO's main galleries.

Walking bands are computed by FOW on the OpenStreetMap surface street network at 80 m/min and drawn as a smoothed approximate area around the streets reached. They ignore exit positions, station interiors, underground passages, signals, slopes and routes inside buildings — not directions; follow on-site signs.

Reading drawings across old maps

The 2026 presentation of Masaho Anotani’s KAMI placed pencil drawings across mountains, rivers and towns on old maps. The related HeHe book was introduced as an A4, 48-page publication at ¥3,500 before tax. A wall-sized image and small marks studied while turning a page work at different scales. It is a concrete example of how this venue connects a publication with art.

Timing the visit

Find ZERO GATE B1 at 16-9 Udagawacho, with general hours noon–21:00. Allow an estimated 30–45 minutes for books and a small show. Separate ordinary bookshop browsing from an event visit; if the exhibition is the purpose, check that programme’s hours and admission.
