A household blanket becomes a jacket

BREATH BY DELTA began in 2020 under DELTA owner/buyer Aya Okura. In her 2024 interview, she described an environmental and human-rights focus that includes reusing surplus cloth and yarn. One concrete collaboration connected a Toyooka bag factory with SAGAN vienna for Japanese deadstock-fabric bags; another produced kudos backpacks with recycled nylon and zips.

Aya Yamanaka's 10–15 January 2026 exhibition made that approach tangible. Household floral blankets became individual garments: Blanket Jumper was ¥51,700 and the drawstring-hem Blanket Zip Up Jacket ¥62,700 then. SPUR's visit showed a large blanket displayed beside garments of differing patterns and colours. Yamanaka previously assisted BLESS and artist Leonor Antunes in Berlin; her own profile names towels, curtains, blankets and surplus fabric as materials. A shop that changes with its exhibitions

At 1-33-16 Uehara, displays and purchase formats change with the programme. Trying samples for later delivery differs from buying garments to take home. Confirm the current public programme and whether an appointment is required before making the trip.
