MIYASHITA PARK

A 1.27-hectare public park above shops, with walking, sports and lawn use to consider separately.

Where Yoyogi offers a broad wooded pause, this park makes the overlap of shops, park and hotel visible.

Visit fitFor outdoor time between shops in Shibuya. Check visit-day restrictions first if lawn access is essential.

Opened in 1953, it became a rooftop park in 1966 and was redeveloped in 2020.

A long park above the shops

MIYASHITA PARK places a roughly 330 m-long public park above retail. Opened in 1953, raised onto an artificial deck in 1966 and rebuilt in 2020, it combines a roughly 1,000 m² lawn with a long pedestrian space. It suits a pause outdoors during shopping while remaining amid the city, a different scale from Yoyogi's extensive woodland walk. Lawn access can change for maintenance.

They ignore exit positions, station interiors, underground passages, signals, slopes and routes inside buildings — not directions; follow on-site signs.

Walking and paid sport

Walking is free; sport requires separate registration. The bouldering wall is 8 m wide and 5 m high, with beginner instruction available. The 480 m² skate area takes skateboards and inline skates. The manager lists non-resident bouldering or skating at ¥1,000 per two hours; rental examples are climbing shoes ¥500, chalk ¥150 and a skateboard ¥500. Bouldering with shoes and chalk totals ¥1,650. The 36 × 19 m sand court requires advance group booking.

A pause or a sports session

The park generally opens 08:00–23:00, sports 09:00–22:00 with last registration 21:30, and closes 29 December–3 January. The park surface is flat and barrier-free; the nursing room is in the South building's 3F food hall. Allow an estimated 20–40 minutes for a pause, or two hours plus registration and preparation for sport. Check the visit day's lawn, weather and facility notices.
